Last night in Austin, Texas, the International Association of Culinary Professionals gathered to hand out their annual awards. Among the big winners — including Dorie Greenspan, whose Around My French Table landed the coveted title of Cookbook of the Year — we're thrilled to announce that two SAVEUR stories were recognized.

Alexander Lobrano's beautiful Spirit of the Bistro, an immersive, thoughtful look at Paris's culture of neighborhood restaurants that ran in Issue #133, won the Bert Greene award for Culinary Writing on a Restaurant and/or Chef, with or without recipes. Read the story here »

Another chronicle of a specific sort of eatery, Issue #134's Roots of the Deli, in which writer David Sax travels Eastern Europe in search of the cultural and geographic origins of the very American Jewish deli, won the Bert Green award for Culinary Writing with Recipes. Read the story here »
