Menu: Breakfast For Christmas Morning

Christmas morning and broad day light, who do you think was here last night?

Christmas breakfast should be simple, comforting, and indulgent to eat — no need to steal the spotlight from the gifts waiting under the tree. Coddled eggs served in individual ramekins are easily carried away from the table for eating around the tree, while scones are perfect for grazing on all throughout the long morning. Plenty of coffee and milk punch will fuel young and old alike for the day's festivities.

More About This Menu

  1. This menu can be ready in about half an hour with a bit of planning. As soon as you wake on Christmas morning, turn on the oven, make coffee and tea, and mix up the scone batter. Once the scones are in the oven, cook the mushrooms for the coddled eggs, then cook the bacon while the eggs finish in the oven with the scones. The milk punch, if serving, can be made the day before.
