Menu: Dim Sum Brunch at Home

More About This Menu

  1. The fillings for the dumplings can be made a day ahead. Several hours beforehand, start the yeasted dough that will form the pork buns; the dough for the other dumplings comes together more quickly and can be made just before steaming.

  2. Char siu bao are one of our favorites on the dim sum cart. In Bao Wow, we take a look at the history and production of these little pork buns.

  3. Many traditional dim sum dishes are steamed and kept warm in a bamboo steamer. For more about these, as well as how to assemble an acceptable substitute, see our article Versatile Vessels.
