Spice and Nut Grinder

In the SAVEUR Test Kitchen, one of the most important qualities we look for in any tool is its washability. When it comes to spice grinders, most models don't have removable parts that can be washed clean. Wiping them down can remove the physical dirt, but anything that goes into the grinder afterwards will pickup the taste of what was in it before, and our chai tea might have an unpleasant hint of coriander. This never happens with our Cuisinart SG-10 Grinder: Its lightning fast pulverization of whole spices and nuts is amazing, but the removable (and dishwasher safe) bowl and lid are what we treasure most, because they ensure that none of the recipes we test are spoiled by the lingering flavors of other spices.
