A waste of fine ingredients and, given the ratio of non-nutritious to nutritious ingredients was a complete waste of calories as well! Saveur! How can you publish cakes without testing them? I have come to rely on Saveur for quality information but this was a huge miss. In the process, I did notice everything was mixed in a way that would not get optimum results (I am an experienced GF cook), but because Saveur recommended it so highly, soldiered on, hoping for something we could eat for breakfast at least. Ai yi yi. Into the garbage. (After I hurl first!) Please, please, look into current Gluten-Free chefs and do some testing before you recommend this level of amateur!
Apple and Pumpkin Upside-Down Cake
Although the title calls for pumpkin, this recipe can actually be made using red kuri squash. Either way, you will end up with a delicious dessert that celebrates the flavors of the fall and winter and will impress all of your guests.
