This recipe freezes wonderfully. It's also fairly light with only 1 Tbsp of butter and no heavy cream. I made a full batch knowing full well that I would be the only member of my house to eat it. I portioned the soup into quart-size freezer baggies and froze flat.

This was a wonderful soup full of complex flavors and filling. I made a few changes, starting with a block of frozen squash from the store. I candied my walnuts and omitted the sage. The soup was so wonderful it was our complete meal. All I would add next time is a warm loaf of whole grain bread and a green salad for a complete meal.
