This really is just a basic chocolate chip cookie, but made with dark chocolate chunks and chopped dried cherries rather than the semi-sweet morsels from the yellow bagż I love the addition of almond extract! The flavor is not overpowering, but it gives the cookies that little something extra.,,,I didn't overload these with chocolate and cherries. I added enough so that you get a good taste of dark chocolate and cherry in each bite, but you can still taste the buttery cookie.
