best of web seal Dimply Plum Cake

This simple coffee cake can be thrown together in a jiffy, and it is the perfect way to showcase late summer stone fruit. The plums can be substituted by peaches, nectarines, apricots, or cherries—anything that's available and ripe.

FROM THE RECIPE:

I understand that a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon in a cake does not the fall make (poet!) but it's the whole picture: late-season plums, a sturdy brown sugar cake, a hint of orange and cinnamon and all together, you have a cake that is the very embodiment of the span between late summer and early fall.

Delicious! Simple and quick to make, with a lovely crumb and crisp exterior, studded with melting and juicy plums. I used Italian prune plums, and they were delectable in this application.
