Thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to bake the crostada for my family this weekend. I'll be back to let you know how it goes.
The Chef Cooks at Home: Apple Crostata
Every year, I look forward to a new harvest of apples: lemony Mutsus, crisp and sweet Royal Galas, sturdy, winy Romes, the temperamental but flavor-filled Cox's Orange Pippins, and more. What's my favorite apple dessert recipe? I love this simple, foolproof version of an apple crostada. The dough is light, almost like puff pastry, and it intensifies the flavor of the apple filling. You can make it as is, or you can make a simple "open" tart.
And what's my favorite apple this season? Braeburns are at the top of my list.

Great photo. Can't wait to try this!

Cool recipe. And it's always apple season. I could eat apple pie all year long.

If it's a recommendation from Alex Guarnaschelli then I believe. She's one of the best chef's in NYC.

Oops! Type alert! It's crostata, not crostada.
