Ti' punch (pronounced as "tea paunch") is typically served as an apéritif and is often constructed tableside by each drinker, who knows the proportions he or she prefers.
Lime wedge
2 oz. white rum (rhum blanc)
1⁄2 tsp. sugarcane syrup
1. Squeeze lime wedge into a tall glass, such as a collins glass, then drop it in. Add rum and syrup. Stir vigorously with a swizzle stick. If you like, add 1 or 2 ice cubes as you stir—just enough to chill the drink but not enough to dilute it too much.
