I love beer as much as the next man. At the moment I'm drinking the Mad Hatter IPA from New Holland from Michigan. It's balanced and very delicious. I'm commenting though on the fact that beer advocate is displaying these brews as the 100 best by voting of the users. The simple fact is though that you can't get some of these beers in the USA and the majority aren't sold in wide release across the country. I just think you should do some more research and review beers before posting an "article" about beer.

The problem with the beer advocate list is that most of the beers listed there are extreme, complex brews for listed by beer geeks for beer geeks. If you want a down to earth guide use the following rules.
IPA is bitter and does not go with spicy stuff. Wheat beer is bready and light but filling. Pilsner goes with everything and you don't need to be a beer geek to enjoy it. Stay away from anything brewed by budwiser, period. Try as many beers as you like and throw my rules out the window.

Some lists I'll keep, this one goes right into the trash as useless.

My advice to beer explorers is to keep an open mind and try brewing your own. With a lot of practice and brewing friends helping, you may produce better than you can buy someday, but you will gain an appreciation for style and substance along the way.
