Hot Chai Toddy

  • Serves

    makes 1 cocktail

HELEN ROSNER

This hot toddy recipe calls for spiced black chai to create a warming, deeply-spiced, pleasantly tannic drink. The measurements specified for the honey and lemon juice are how we best enjoy the cocktail, but you can add both ingredients to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag black tea with chai spices
  • 8 oz. hot water
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • Lemon wedge

Instructions

Step 1

Pour the hot water over the tea in a heat-proof glass or mug. Add the honey and stir until completely dissolved. Allow to steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then discard the tea bag. Add lemon juice and bourbon and stir until combined. Garnish with the lemon wedge.
