Menu: A Hanukkah Feast

Latkes may get all the glory when it comes to Hanukkah celebrations, but it's just as appropriate to the Festival of Lights to indulge in other fried foods, like delicately spiced saffron fritters, and (of course) a pile of fresh doughnuts. When the potato pancakes do make an appearance, shake things up by topping them with a spicy horseradish-spiked applesauce or an earthy za'atar dip, or try the Modernist latke, a simple (albeit untraditional) take on the classic that yields a crispy, fluffy, non-greasy pancake without the hours spent grating potatoes and wringing them dry. To round things out, serve a classic apricot and currant chicken, and a refreshing salad of winter vegetables. And don't forget the chocolate gelt! See the menu »
