The only recipe I have had to seriously adjust is the one for the chickpea crepes. It calls for a tremendous amount of oil not only in the batter but also in the cake pan before pouring the batter. It was inedible. I made the remainder of the batter with barely one tblsp of oil and it came out wonderful.
I find it very annoying to have to scroll ahead through all the featured recipes every time to get to the place where I left off. Also, I've been asking for a way of categorizing recipes. This would be a great feature!
Sailinglotus and Gems, I experience the same thing at every recipe slide show I peruse. Here's how to solve your problem: once you deal with a specific recipe, don't exit the page. Just hit your back button and you will be where you left off in the slide show.
I totally agree with SAILINGLOTUS. I frequent many other food magazine sites, but I am a new Saveur subscriber and I too find it VERY annoying to have to scroll thru every page to get back to where I left off in the slide show-a waste of my time, and something that doesn't occur at other sites I often visit. Come on Saveur, get with the times! I expect a more professional and user friendly site!
Easiest way to deal with the annoying scrolling problem: right-click the recipe link and open it in a new tap, keeping the original slideshow open at the same place.
Five comments and four of them about the lousy way you have the site set up. For all the times I have commented about the very same thing, I can only but wonder whether you people are brain dead or simply do not care about the concerns of your patrons.
contrary to what you may think, one picture IS NOT worth a thousand words when it is so small you can't really make anything out. USE OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TO LIST THE RECIPES YOU WISH TO FEATURE. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE YOU IDIOTS. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PRINT OUT SIMPLE STRAIGHT FOREWORD LISTS OF THE ITEMS YOU WISH TO SHOW. NOW JUST DO IT, AND STOP CONSTANTLY PISSING EVERYONE OFF WITH YOUR STRIDENT REFUSAL TO LISTEN TO THE COMPLAINTS OF YOUR READERS!!!
Saveur: With regard to our saved recipes, it would be appreciated if you change the Save/Saved option to reflect if a recipe has already been saved to our favorites.
