Cutting Cane
 

Sugarcane has a juicy fibrous center that adds sweetness to many festive drinks including the Mexican favorite–Ponche.

To reach the center, though, you must remove the tough bark: simply stand a 6" piece of cane up-right and slide a sharp knife between the bark and the interior.
