CookieBar Cocktail Cookies

I've always thought of Dorie Greenspan, the author of many cookbooks including the instant classic, Baking: From My Home To Yours, as the sultan of sweet. She's written plenty of pastry books, and has even opened up her own cookie business, aptly named CookieBar, with her son, Josh. This season, however, she's launched a line of mail order treats that look like cookies, but are in fact savory cracker-cookie hybrids. Dubbed the Cocktail Collection, these flakey, crunchy bites are designed to compliment wine or harder drinks. My favorites are the Sesame Sea Salt, a nutty, crisp creation made with ground almonds, sesame seeds, and fleur de sel, which would go great with a dry white wine, and Cocoa Cayenne, a deep dark biscuit with Maldon salt and a fierce pepper afterbite, a fine match for whiskey or port.
