Adding tequila and lime zest to a homemade almond and rice horchata is a delicious and impressive alternative to eggnog. This recipe was developed by Paddy O’Brien of the cocktail consultant team All in Good Spirits. For extra citrus flavor, he suggests you instruct guests to twist their lime garnish above the glass and rub it around the rim before adding to their drink.
- 2 cups tequila blanco
- 3 3⁄4 cups horchata
- 5 oz. Velvet Falernum
- Strips of lime zest for garnish
- Combine horchata, tequila, and Velvet Falernum in a large pitcher or punch bowl and mix well, adding about 2 cups of ice. Ladle or pour into ice-filled glasses, and garnish each glass with a strip of lime peel.
