One Good Find: Stainless Steel Milk Frother

Perfectly foamed milk, no batteries required

My friends scoff when they see me carefully microwave my whole milk before adding it to my coffee. Little do they know, I’m only settling for warm milk—what I really want is hot, airy, frothy milk for a perfect café au lait. I’ve tried many a home milk frother only to return, disappointed, to my microwave, which has thus far produced the best approximation of my favorite coffee shop drink. That is, until I stumbled upon the HIC Stainless Steel Milk Frother. Audacious good looks, smooth, creamy foam, and no batteries required: I just set the carafe directly on the stovetop to warm the milk, then pump the frothing mechanism by hand. My brief moment of anger at not having found this excellent apparatus earlier quickly dissolved with the knowledge that the rest of my life is forever improved. I’ll never use the microwave to heat my milk again.
