"Draw us a recipe." That's the brief we sent to a dozen of our favorite comic artists earlier this year; each week this summer, we're thrilled to present what they sent back. They're fantastic, beautiful, hilarious, thoughtful, informative, and often all of the above — and they prove that a recipe doesn't just have to be words on paper. Up first, Cat and Girl's Dorothy Gambrell, whose brainy, wry ongoing chronicle of the friendship between the human-sized Cat and his best pal Girl was one of the pioneer web comics, ongoing since 1999. (She's also the mastermind behind our all-time favorite bumper sticker, "If you can read this, you're literate.")
Here, Dorothy illustrates her recipe for chili-spiked chocolate ice cream (with a slight side of ennui).
Dorothy Gambrell is the proprietor of the web comic Cat and Girl. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
