Recipe Comix: Toad in the Hole

"Draw us a recipe." That's the brief we sent to a slew of our favorite comic artists earlier this year; each week, we're thrilled to present what they sent back. This week's comic is by John Allison, the Manchester-based narrative savant who pulls the strings in Tackleford, a fictional village beset by both the supernatural and the absurd whose exploits have been chronicled in a number of comic series, most recently Bad Machinery. Here, Allison's intrepid school-age detectives Lottie and Mildred whip up a version of toad in the hole that will turn us all into excellent housewives, even if we previously thought ourselves thwarted by age or gender:
