It wasn't easy to work through over 45,000 of your nominations for this year's food blog awards but honestly, it was a lot of fun. We discovered so many incredible blogs that we hadn't previously heard of in the process, and choosing only six finalists per category was a tough task. Since we didn't have room for all of the sites we loved in this year's nominee list, we wanted to give fifty of our next-favorites a shout-out. In case someone hasn't already, I just thought I'd mention the link for Annie's Eats isn't correct. It's a great blog so I'd hate for people to miss out!

Thanks for the catch, Life Is Sweet - we've updated the link with the correct URL. - Helen, SAVEUR.com

Thank you so much for mentioning my blog!! Just a note: the blog's name is "Clockwork Lemon" (not Seddy5) that's just my typepad user name :)

@Seddy5 Fixed it! Should change in a few minutes.

I'm so glad you featured "House to Haus." I've been obsessed with that blog for months! Amazing pictures (that make me want to bake all day and move to Zurich!)

Good list, but make that 51! (Sorry, I had to. I was so excited about this when the nominations were up.)

I didn't see any gluten free food blogs -- check out http://www.glutenfreedietblog.com - it's just getting started, but there's lots of good advice for people new to being gluten free.

Thanks Saveur for compiling a list that doesn't just focus on the superblogs- I found a couple great new sites to add to my feed.

My only issue? I wish Saveur had made sure that some of these were current- some of the ones I saw hadn't been updated in a looooong time. Although Jamilbroom raised another valid point with the lack of gluten-free blogs on the list...

Hope this list becomes an annual thing!

I have subscribed to Saveur for almost as long as the magazine has been in existence and just now I tried to locate information on your website about New England Clambakes and 0 items came up. I'm having a hard time believing that in all those years you haven't done a single article on the subject. I also note that there doesn't seem to be a 'history' link or one that might access any article in the history of the magazine. In my mind, this would be the most important aspect of maintaining a website for your loyal subscribers.

Do I need to leaf through my many copies of the print version to locate something like this??

all best,
Shaun Merrick

I would like to add #52 to the list! Before I say that though, I agree with the above poster that it's nice to see a list that doesn't subscribe to the normal suspects. I half expected to see the Smitten Kitchen and Serious Eats pasted everywhere, however some of these blogs are great finds and I have bookmarked them. Thank you very much! As for #52, this blog is updated almost daily and has great photos and articles to go with the recipes. AdLib Recipe at http://www.adlibrecipe.com. Or is that #53 now? :)

This is a nice list but always wonder how you come up with any lists; how do you find those mentioned? How do you choose your Blogs Saveur loves even? I know so many worthy blogs that languish in the netherworld of never being noticed; I am seriously just wondering what that takes?

I see the people that pander to you via nonstop tweeting or RTing...does that work?

One person mentioned no GF blog...well I'll mention no Booze blog...it's half of what I do and I'll tell you, bloggers seem to like the cocktails; yes they do! :)
