Hundreds and Thousands Sandwich

Australia's Hundreds and Thousands sandwich, made with butter and sprinkles on toasted white bread, is a simple and unexpected dessert. This recipe first appeared in our April 2011 special Sandwich Issue with author Christopher Tan's article Special Treats.

MAKES 1 SANDWICH

1 slice white bread
1 tbs butter, softened
Rainbow sprinkles

Toast the bread until medium golden brown, and cut off the crusts. Spread the butter on the warm bread; top with sprinkles to taste.

its affectionately known as "fairy bread" and is served at kids birthday parties in Oz.
