Well, I have African blue growing and these leaves look just like mine. Are you colorblind, by chance, tecolote? And technically the leaves ARE dead. They have been cut off of the plant.

Please correct spelling of this basil - it's GenoVese; the "V" has been left out. Thanks!

There is a typo in the description of Thai basil in the word "doesn't"

The "Mixed Bloom" photo looks exactly like my plant that was labeled "Thai" basil...hmmmm
