Below are our current internships for the Spring 2018 semester:

Print Editorial Intern

SAVEUR is seeking a motivated, organized, and passionate individual to join our print editorial team as an intern for the upcoming spring semester. This is an opportunity to work alongside and learn from a small, tight-knit editorial team on a prestigious, award-winning print publication. The ideal candidate should have excellent researching and writing skills, as well as an inexhaustible appetite for good food and journalism across the globe. Knowledge of a foreign language is preferred, but not required.

Ideally you’d be able to start in January and work through the end of May for 15 to 20 hours a week. You must be able to get school credit as this internship is unpaid.

  • Primary responsibilities include:
  • Researching print stories in development
  • Fact-checking and proofreading print stories
  • Pitching and writing front-of-book stories for SAVEUR
  • Pitching and writing stories for saveur.com
  • Attending editorial meetings
  • Occasional administrative duties

In this collaborative environment, interns will wear many hats. You will learn the ins and outs of publishing a print magazine, from the art of successfully pitching stories to producing, proofreading, and shipping the final pages to the printer. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to saveur.com, as well as some short front-of-book pieces and sidebars in the print magazine. We are looking for self-starters; the scale of your contributions is up to you.

To apply, email alex@saveur.com with the subject line “Editorial Intern - Spring 2018." Please include your resume, a few words about yourself and why you’d like to intern at SAVEUR, three writing samples (they don’t necessarily need to be about food, but it helps), and 100 words telling us about your most interesting food-related travel experience. If we’re interested we’ll get back to you quickly.

Digital Editorial Intern

Saveur.com is seeking a food-, travel-, and media-loving person to join our digital team as an editorial intern for the upcoming semester. This is an opportunity to work alongside and learn from a nimble, fast-evolving digital operation within a prestigious, award-winning print publication (not to mention eat really great food).

Ideally you’d be able to start in January and work through the end of May for 15 to 20 hours a week. You must be able to get school credit as this internship is unpaid.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Building stories and recipes in our CMS

  • Pitching and writing stories for saveur.com

  • Working on recipe roundups and other daily content

Like many editorial internships, this is one focuses heavily on learning the ins and outs of web production, and you’ll learn all about analytics, social media, and everything else that goes into building and growing a digital publication. But you’ll have opportunities to write as well, and we always encourage pitches from our interns.

To apply, email dan.dao@saveur.com with your resume, a few words about yourself, a couple short samples of your writing (they don’t need to be about food), and 100 words telling us where to find the best sandwich in the world. If we’re interested we’ll get back to you quickly.
