SAVEUR Editor-in-Chief Wins IACP Award

Congratulations to SAVEUR Editor-in-Chief James Oseland, who won the IACP Cookbook Award in the International Category for his acclaimed cookbook, Cradle of Flavor: Home Cooking from the Spice Islands of Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia (W.W. Norton, 2006).

The highly coveted awards, bestowed annually at the International Conference of the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals), recognize oustanding quality and creativity in cookbook writing and publishing.

Cradle of Flavor offers a wealth of anecdotes, regional techniques, and enticing recipes that showcase Oseland's passion for the people, culture, and cuisine of the Spice Islands, developed over two decades traveling and exploring there. It's a passion we know well at SAVEUR, thanks to Oseland's work for the magazine long before he joined the ranks. In honor of his achievement, join us in revisiting three pieces of his that rank among our all-time favorites:
Lady Baltimore Eats, a heartfelt celebration of the cuisine of
his Baltimore roots
Tableful of Spice, an exploration of Indonesia's traditional
nasi Padang cooking
Sweet Rice, Rituals, & Water Guns, a joyful recounting of
Myanmar's New Year celebrations
