After reviewing this gallery, I was disappointed to see that none of Trinidad's rum made the cut. The Angostura company in Trinidad, home to the world famous bitters, has created rums that have won world competitions for years. I am talking about the Angostura 1919 and 1912 rums among others. It is impossible to talk about rums in the Caribbean without talking about Angostura's contribution to the industry.

65 bucks and a screw cap?

65 bucks and a screw cap? You need glasses or you should go out and BUY a bottle, or at least hold one in your hand. It is the perforation for the safety wrap.
Screw caps are replacing cork in most beverages as producers prefer the taste of their product instead of their product mixing with cork.

Calera vineyards uses glass stoppers. Really cool touch.

You should read up on packaging a little so you don't appear ignorant of the facts.

This was the first time, ever, that I was let down by Saveur. The author's choices don't even make my top five, not to mention my entire top ten isn't even on his list. Omitting Trinidad, Guatamala and Cuba was his first major error. Ron Zacopa couldn't make your cut? Havana Club Block and Barrel? Shame. I wish someone would pay me to show the readers what really good rum is and how to use it. They deserve better than this contrived touristy list.
