Eating in New York: The Blonde Ambition at Craftbar

Tom Colicchio's restaurant empire covers plenty of ground in the city, from the mothership Craft restaurant to all the various 'wichcraft locations across Manhattan. My favorite spot is Craftbar: not only does the restaurant serve some of the best chicken liver pate in town (with a gilded-lily topping of cherry preserves), but the bartenders make a mean martini in the form of the Blonde Ambition, featuring gin and elderflower liqueur. It's been my favorite sipper this summer—not only is it a perfect cocktail for indoors, but I've also been making it for backyard barbecues and weeknight sunsets. —Jayanthi Daniel, SAVEUR
