Awwww. . .you guys missed "Old Tony's on the Pier" in Redondo Beach. Best clam chowder in LA (possibly the entire west coast). Great smoked salmon chowder too.

I know I'm asking too much, but you could at least have mentioned our dozens of Thai, Armenian, Salvadoran, Vietnamese, and Japanese restaurants, and our smatterings of Hondurans, Guatemalans,Peruvians, Columbians, Brazilians, and Cambodians. And probably 30-50 others. That's the essence of LA food: immense variety.

Living in Northern California and rushing to and from Southern California for conferences and business trips, it has never really occured to us to actually go beyond Disneyland as a destination and take a weekend food adventure in the L.A area. This was the case until your magazine devoted its entire issue to eating in L.A. We are looking forward to our weekend in November and would love to hear about more eateries that did not make it on your list from fellow subscibers.
