Menu: A Sukkot-Inspired Harvest Feast

Sundown this evening marks the beginning of Sukkot, the seven-day Jewish harvest celebration that commemorates the biblical Hebrews' 40-year trek through the dessert. During Sukkot, we look forward to sharing warming meals with friends and family in the sukkah, the temporary, tree branch-adorned structure which serves as the symbolic center of the holiday, and for which the celebrate is named. Just as all are welcome at the sukkah table, you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy a celebration of life, community, and autumn's bounty with this menu for a globally-inspired Sukkot feast.

The Sukkot dinner menu is delicious but so wrong. In a traditional home one would never mix milk and meat. Having a sweet noodle kugel is fine with other dairy dishes. A lamb stew is lovely with other meat or vegtable dishes. Please be more respectful of your holiday offerings. I know only someone of the faith would pay any attention to this mistake. This holiday meal would have been a wonderful teaching opportunity on Keeping Kosher and the milk and dairy seperation. Pamm
