A refreshing marriage between a Tom Collins and a Dark n' Stormy, this lime and ginger beer-spiked gin cocktail developed by Jeff Faile of Washington, D.C.'s The Partisan has an intriguing herbal undertone from the addition of Amaro Abano, a zesty Italian digestif with notes of bitter orange, cardamom, and white pepper.

Yield: makes 1 Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. gin
  • <sup>3</sup>⁄<sub>4</sub> oz. Amaro Abano
  • <sup>1</sup>⁄<sub>2</sub> oz. lime juice
  • Ginger beer, to top
  • Lime wedge, for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine gin, amaro, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice; shake vigorously and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with lime wedge.
