Kat Craddock is a New York City-based editor, writer, recipe developer with over 18 years of experience in food and food media. She joined SAVEUR in 2015 as a Test Kitchen Freelancer and worked her way up to Test Kitchen Director by 2019. She was then promoted to Executive Editor in 2020 and to Editorial Director shortly thereafter.

Experience
Prior to moving over to media, Kat spent over a decade working in food, first as a cheesemonger, then as a pastry chef and bread baker. Notable experience includes Mindy Segal’s Hot Chocolate, Maura Kilpatrick’s Sofra, Thomas Keller’s Per Se and Bouchon Bakery, and Andrew Carmellini’s Lafayette Grand Café. Since then, Kat has written articles and tested and developed recipe content for publications including Tasting Table, Serious Eats, Taste Cooking, Airbnb Magazine, SAVEUR, and others. Additionally, she has tested recipes for many cookbooks including Andy Ricker’s Pok Pok: The Drinking Food of Thailand and Pok Pok Noodles; Nicole Krasinski and Stuart Brioza’s State Bird Provisions; and several of Phaidon’s international food “bibles.” She is also currently co-authoring the cookbook Eat Better, Sleep Better: The New Science-Based Diet for Better Sleep (Simon & Schuster).Education
Kat has a BA in English with a minor in Studio Art from Wellesley College and is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary school.Desert Island Ingredient
