This version of the Manhattan stays true to the classic with Jim Beam rye whiskey and angostura bitters. Mike Robertson, Head Bartender of The Driftwood Room in Portland, Oregon, demonstrates the recipe in our video Six Manhattans in 60 Seconds.

Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz. Jim Beam rye whiskey
  • 12 oz. Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
  • 12 oz. Cardamaro
  • dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 Amarena cherry, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1

Combine rye, vermouth, Cardamaro, and bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass; garnish with cherry.
