Dark and ominous, but inviting with a smoky aroma, this Scotch-based drink by George Washington Bar bartender Tom Lasher-Walker captures the mysterious spirit of All Hallow's Eve in Scotland. The name, however, is a cheeky reference to the most popular song of the 1975 hit musical Rocky Horror Picture Show. If preparing the drink for a large party, scale up, batch the ingredients in advance, and assemble each drink to order by ladling individual servings into a glasses over fresh ice.

What You Will Need

Ingredients

  • 34 oz. blended Scotch
  • 34 oz. Islay Scotch
  • 12 oz. Cynar
  • 12 oz. Cherry Heering
  • 12 oz. sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Expressed orange or lemon twist

Instructions

Step 1

In a rocks glass, combine the combine the scotch, Islay scotch, Cynar, Cherry Heering, vermouth, and bitters. Add one large ice cube, then stirr for 15–20 seconds, or until outside of glass is very cold and frosted over. Garnish with an expressed orange or lemon twist and serve.
