Cranberry-Walnut Relish

Raw cranberries and earthy walnuts are transformed into a tart, fresh condiment for turkey. This recipe, developed by chef Mary Sue Milliken, first appeared in our November 2013 issue with the story State of Grace.


  • 12 cup sugar
  • 12 cup walnut halves, lightly toasted
  • 14 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 (12-oz.) bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 large orange, zested, then peeled and thinly sliced, seeds removed


Step 1

Pulse all ingredients in a food processor until almost smooth; chill until ready to serve.
