White Spider
This elegant, uncommon drink (essentially a sidecar made with gin) is an interesting alternative to run-of-the-mill cocktails.
Yield: makes 1 cocktail
For the Sour Mix (makes 1 cup)
- 1 small egg white
- 1 tbsp. fine sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
For the Cocktail
- 1 1⁄2 oz. sour mix
- 1 1⁄2 oz. gin
- 3⁄4 oz. Cointreau
- 1⁄3 tsp. sugar
Instructions
- Make the sour mix: Whisk together until sugar is dissolved and egg white is fully incorporated.
- Make the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add sour mix, gin, Cointreau, and sugar. Shake vigorously, then pour into a chilled martini glass.
