Dutch Oven Cocktail
In this updated take on the Old Fashioned from Katie Emmerson of Boston’s craft cocktail bar The Hawthorne, barrel-aged Bols Genever is mixed with two types of bitters and a touch of absinthe for a drink that is throughly modern and compelling. What You Will Need
- 2 sugar cubes
- 3 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
- 1 dash orange bitters
- 3 drops absinthe
- 1 capful soda water
- 2 oz. Barrel Aged Bols Genever
- Grapefruit twist
- Place sugar cubes, bitters, and soda water in a mixing glass. Muddle into a smooth paste. Add Genever, ice, and stir.
- Strain into a chilled tumbler over a large ice cube or ice ball. Squeeze grapefruit twist over the top and rub around the rim and serve.
