Nutmeg Syrup

    makes 1 Cup

Warm nutmeg syrup makes a nice garnish to French vanilla ice cream or fluffy pancakes. For a thicker consistency use less water.


  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg


Step 1

Combine sugar and flour in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk in 1 cup boiling water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and stir until syrup is slightly thickened.

Step 2

Beat in butter and nutmeg and serve warm.
