This old-school cocktail is meant to be slugged back in a single gulp. It was long believed to be a cure-all for everything from hangovers to stomachaches. This version is based on one that appears in the Standard Bartender’s Guide by Patrick Gavin Duffy (PocketBooks, 1933).
