Labneh with Za’tar

Za'tar, a Middle Eastern herb-and-spice mix enhances the flavor of almost anything, especially cheese, salads, chicken, and fish.

Yield: serves 2-4


  • 1 cup labneh
  • 3-4 tbsp. fruity extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 tsp. za'tar
  • Toasted pita


  1. Using the back of a spoon, spread labneh in a circular motion almost to the edge of a plate. Drizzle olive oil in a circle over the labneh, then sprinkle za'tar in the center.
  2. To serve, tear off pieces of toasted pita and wipe the plate, scooping up labneh, olive oil, and za'tar with each bite.
